I was a little girl who was told her future was planned out for her. I was damaged, traumatized, and part of a culture with low expectations. I was included in a statistic that expected less than 10% of foster children to attend college. "The Feather Project" was developed to help guide young girls through life challenges, trauma, and personal limitations. These are daily struggles that children within the Foster Care system face. As one of those children, I can relate to the barriers of low expectations. With this scholarship and your support, I will help break down those barriers. I have partnered up with the Elkhart Junior Miss Inc. nonprofit for this fundraising cause because their mission aligns with "The Feather Project". Together we are taking "The Feather Project" world wide as I prepare to compete for Mrs. World!
Funds raised will help me reach those goals while developing a website, filing for our 501(c)3, and funding the scholarship for a Foster Care student entering college in 2018. We won't stop there; the opportunities are limitless!!
As your 2018 Mrs. America, I made a promise to use my year to promote "The Feather Project". I hope you'll consider contributing as a way to celebrate with me. Every little bit will help me reach my goal.
My dream isn't about winning a sparkly crown, it's always been about leaving the world better than I found it."

Mrs. Indiana America MAKES the TOP 15 at the 2016 national Mrs. America Pageant in Las Vegas!
Thank you for taking the first step in your journey to the Mrs. Indiana-America title! There are many many reasons a married woman will enter her state pageant. It could be that she wants to get out in her community and wants to have her voice heard on a particular subject. She may want to meet others that have her same interests. Some women have a reason to celebrate a "new" physical you! I want you to know that whatever your reason is.... it is a good one! Pageants are a positive way to do many things in life; sharpen personal interview or communication skills, get more involved in a cause that is near and dear to your heart, get in shape and become healthier or all of the above. We are a very busy society and we rarely make time to do something just for ourselves, well this can be that something for you. The day of the pageant is filled with fun and excitement. My best friends in life have been women that I have met through competing in pageants. Do not wait to enter! Email me today to reserve your spot as a Mrs. Indiana America contestant!
